Rebecca Chapman is the primary flute instructor at Utah Valley University. A frequent studio artist, she has recorded flute tracks for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Newsies, Oliver!, CATS, Footloose, and many others. Chapman also appears regularly as a flutist with the Ballet West Orchestra.
Chapman was a prizewinner in the 2018 New York Flute Club Young Artist Competition, the “Judges Commendation Award” recipient in the 2016 Classics Alive Young Artists Competition, and the Estelle Campbell Prize winner in the 2014 national NSAL Competition. Chapman is under management as a solo artist for Classics Alive Artists. She has performed in Japan, Germany, France, and across the United States.
An avid chamber musician, Chapman is a former and founding member of Emissary Quartet and has performed with EQ at Fischoff, the National Flute Association Convention, and in Boston, NYC, Pittsburgh, Iowa, and Utah residencies.
Chapman gave her solo debut with the Las Vegas Philharmonic at the age of 12. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Her primary teachers include Jeanne Baxtresser, Marianne Gedigian, and Cynthia Man.
Chapman currently resides in Salt Lake City with her husband, Ryan, and two young children.
